2025 Course Dates

Future course dates for April, July, August and October 2025 will be available on this page soon, alternatively, follow us on Facebook for updates - Sport and Leisure South Ayrshire.  

All courses run from 9am - 5.30pm for 5 days (all days must be attended to gain qualification) - an additional day may be required for assessment.

Course Pre-requisites

• Be 16+ years of age on the date of assessment
• Jump / dive into deep water
• Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and 100m continuously on back n deep water, tread water for 30 seconds
• Surface dive to the floor of the pool
• Climb out of the pool unaided without using a ladder / steps where the pool design permit

£260.00 per course 

How to apply

1. Review the Course Dates above.
2. Attend a General Swim session at the facility you wish to complete your course at - our Swimming Timetables are available here.  
3. Speak to Reception on arrival to ensure there is a space in the course you want to attend, prior to completing your Course Pre-requisites (above).  
4. If you pass the Course Pre-requisites, you will be asked to complete an application form.  (If you are under 18, please ensure you take a parent/carer along with you to sign the form.)  
5. You must submit the completed application form to Reception and pay for your course prior to leaving the facility - you will only be guaranteed a space in the course once you have done this.
