Additional Support Needs at Troon Primary School - have your say!

South Ayrshire Council is proposing to turn two classrooms at Troon Primary School into a dedicated space for Additional Support Needs (ASN) learning.

At present there are only three mainstream primary schools in South Ayrshire that have ASN bases and none of these are north of Ayr.

The proposals for Troon Primary School would mean the end of lengthy taxi journeys for ASN pupils living in and around Troon and would help to relieve pressure on existing provision.

The families of all children who attend Troon Primary School have already been contacted about the proposals. This consultation is an opportunity for the wider community to have their say, along with parents and carers who expect to have a child attending the school within the next two years.

Councillor William Grant, Education Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "We're hoping to gather as much feedback as we can on the proposal, so I would encourage anyone with current links to the school, or who may have children attending in the next couple of years, to have their say."
