Depute Provost Celebrates Town Twinning Association Rugby Match Between Ayr and St Germain-En-Laye
South Ayrshire Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick attended a combined U13s and U14s rugby match between Ayr Wellington and French based MLSGP Rugby Club at Millbrae on Sunday 13 April.
The match was organised by Ayr Rugby Club together with Ayr and St Germain-en-Laye Twinning Associations as a link between the two towns with teams competing to win the Marie Stuart Trophy.
The 2025 exchange visit marks the French team's 9th visit to Ayr since the formation of the tournament, with both teams making the exchange trip biennially. The event is likely to be the young players' first experience of an international game and is a fantastic way to celebrate the friendship which has been formed by both teams over the years.
It was an enthusiastically played match by both teams with the French side taking home the silverware as winners of the 2025 Marie Stuart Trophy.
