Community Groups Seeking Support Portal
The Community Group Seeking Support Portal has been designed to allow South Ayrshire Council to share the requests for support which have been received from groups across the local authority and acts as a 'one stop shop' for Council contractors to see the range of opportunities available for them to give back to local people.
Any Community Group requests fulfilled by a contractor/supplier/service provider will be recorded alongside their other Community Benefit pledges as submitted at tender stage. Any community group can add their cause to our Community Groups Seeking Support list by following the below guidance.
Suppliers/Service Providers will be directed to this list of requests when preparing their contract bid and upon contract award.
Community Benefits
Community Benefits clauses are contractual clauses that can be legally included in public procurement regulated projects and provides a method of including social, economic, and environmental matters in all Council contracts. Such social, economic, and environmental benefits are hereinafter referred to as "Community Benefits."
Suppliers/Service Providers who are successful in the tendering process and thereafter award a South Ayrshire Council contract are required, where there is the relevant clause within their contract, to commit to supporting local causes through community enhancement, training and employment opportunities, work placements, school curriculum support and business supply chain development.
To improve standards of sustainable procurement we have established a process of collecting and recording Community Benefits and Sustainable Methods throughout the contract.
South Ayrshire Councils Contract and Supplier Management Team track all active contract Community Benefits pledges/clauses bi-annually however encourage any suppliers/service providers who have any updates or want to better understand what they can do to meet their Community Benefit contractual obligations to contact us at CSM@south-ayrshire.gov.uk.
Please note that the information provided is shared publicly and will be shared with key members of South Ayrshire Council (e.g., Elected Members and Senior Management).
The Community Benefit update will be used to measure performance against the relevant key performance indicators on the balanced scorecards. A copy of the Standard Key Performance Indicators can be found within the Supplier Briefing Pack or can be downloaded here.
