Festive Opening Hours 2023
Customer Services
During the festive period you can contact Customer Services by phone, operating hours are listed below:
- Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December - Closed
- Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 December - 9:00am - 4.45pm
- Friday 29 December - 9:00am - 4:00pm
- Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 January 2024 - Closed
- Wednesday 3 January - Re-open at 9am as normal

Garden Waste (brown bin)
There will be no brown bin collections carried out on Monday 25 December or Monday 1 January. Please refer to the online winter brown bin uplift request for this service.
Recycle your Christmas Tree
Did you know you can arrange for your real Christmas tree to be recycled for free in your brown bin? You can book an uplift on our website https://www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/winter-bins or by calling 0300 123 0900.

Special uplift collections will stop on Thursday 21 December 2023 and recommence on Monday 8 January 2024.

Property Maintenance
Property Maintenance will operate a normal working hour service up to 4:00pm on Thursday 21 December 2023.
We will have a reduced service on the following days, carrying out emergency and urgent housing and non-housing repairs only. This will also include heating upgrade works if tenants have no heating or hot water:

Our out of hours emergency service will remain unchanged throughout the full holiday period from Friday 22 December until Friday 5 January 2024.

Housing Services
Housing Services will close at 4.00pm on Friday 22 December and will re-open on Wednesday 3 January 2024 at 10.00 am.
If you are homeless and need help with temporary accommodation during this period, please contact the Homeless Standby Service on 0808 100 3151.
Making Payments
To make a payment to your rent account, please call our Telephone Payment Service on 0300 123 0900. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Remember to have your 13-digit payment reference number when you call, this can be found on your rent payment card.
Alternatively, you can make a payment online.
Scottish Welfare Fund
The phone lines for The Scottish Welfare Fund will be closed over the festive period from Friday 23 December until Tuesday 3 January, with the exception of Wednesday 27- Friday 29 December. On these days, phone lines will be open for new Crisis Grant applications ONLY.
Online applications will remain open during the festive period.
Enquiries to the Scottish Welfare Fund via phone will resume as normal on Wednesday 3 January.
