The South Ayrshire Boys' Primary School Football Team has been crowned national champions after winning the 2025 Association Sevens Championship at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre in Glasgow.

Southcraig School in Ayr recently received a positive report from Education Scotland, following an inspection in 2025.

In 2024, Royal Troon Golf Club hosted The 152nd Open, organised by The R&A. In order to thank the Troon community for hosting this prestigious Championship, The R&A pledged a package of community support which would benefit local groups and projects. 13 January 2026.
