Appeal a benefit decision and overpayments

Department of Works and Pensions and Social Security Scotland benefits

There are 3 main reasons that you may appeal a DWP or SSS benefit decision:

  • You did not get awarded a benefit that you claimed for
  • You did not get awarded the rate of benefit you expected
  • You have been overpaid a benefit for any reason

Where you wish to challenge a DWP or HMRC decision we can guide you through the process of Mandatory Reconsideration and submitting an appeal on your behalf. If this is not successful we will assist you at the next stage of your appeal which is a Tribunal Hearing by preparing a written representation.

If you have been overpaid by the DWP or SSS for any reason we are here to help by looking at the circumstances surrounding the overpayment and provide you with advice and assistance to challenge the overpayment and/or the repayment rate.
