Special diets and allergens information

We can cater for pupils who have specific dietary requirements including:

  • Additional support needs e.g. those with chewing and swallowing difficulties
  • Religious, cultural or ethical reasons e.g. individuals from different ethnic origins
  • Medically prescribed e.g. due to coeliac disease, food allergy, food intolerance, etc

In providing a specific diet, differing approaches are taken depending on the reason for the diet requested. In respect of a specific diet due to additional support needs or ethical/religious/cultural reasons, the parent/guardian should notify the Head Teacher who will liaise with the Catering Supervisor in respect of the specific diet required.

In respect of a medical prescribed diet, you are required to make a formal request to the school using the Icon for word Medical diet request form [14.93KB] .In the event of any change to the circumstances in respect of a medical diet being provided, the Head Teacher must be notified in writing using the Icon for word Medical diet amendment form [15.07KB].

In all circumstances, any pupil being provided with a specific diet will have an individual specific diet action plan in place. For further information, see our Icon for word Procedure for the provision of a specific diet in schools [4.49MB].

Food allergy / food intolerance

All menus have been analysed for food allergens, for full details please visit the primary school food portal or secondary school portal as appropriate.
