Hearing Aid Battery Pick Up Points
Provided by the Sensory Impairment Support Group - S.I.S.G, the following South Ayrshire libraries are hearing aid battery pick up points. Drop-in anytime during library opening hours:
- Carnegie library
- Forehill library
- Girvan library
- John Rodie library
- Maybole library
- Prestwick library
- Symington library
- Tarbolton library
- Troon library
Health information packs and DVDs
Libraries in South, East and North Ayrshire have worked in partnership with NHS Ayrshire and Arran to help support health and wellbeing in the community. This has been funded by the Scottish Government's Public Library Improvement Fund through the Scottish Library and Information Council.
The Long Term Conditions Network from the NHS provide most libraries in Ayrshire with regularly updated resource packs on the following conditions:
- diabetes
- epilepsy
- heart disease
- multiple sclerosis
- respiratory
- stroke
There are also DVDs for loan on the different conditions which form part of the 'Self Management DVDs for long Term Conditions' voucher scheme operated by GP surgeries.
In addition we also have a broad range of health and wellbeing books available to borrow.
