What benefits should someone fleeing Ukraine claim on entering the United Kingdom?

The Department for Work and Pensions laid out emergency regulations 21 March 2022 to ensure those arriving in the UK from Ukraine, as a result of the Russian invasion, can access immediate Universal Credit and jobs support. To make a claim for Universal Credit go to Universal Credit: What Universal Credit is - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Ukrainian guests will also be able to claim Housing Benefit, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Child Disability Living Allowance, Child Benefit and Carers Allowance, and Attendance Allowance. Contributions-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), where eligibility criteria is met.  

Will there be any support to help people claim benefits?

If the Local Authority make any support payments to displaced Ukrainians, for example the interim payment of £200, will this affect Universal Credit entitlement?     

No, the £200 will be disregarded for Universal Credit purposes however, it will count as Capital and may have an effect if you have savings.
