Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship

Registering to be a sponsor

If you already know who you want to sponsor from Ukraine, you can help them apply for a visa and register you as their sponsor under the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-a-visa-under-the-ukraine-sponsorship-scheme

If you do not have someone to sponsor from Ukraine you can apply directly to the Scottish Super Sponsor Scheme at mygov.scot/offer-a-home and our Ukrainian Support Team or Scottish Government will match you to a guest who has already arrived in Scotland.

If you have already registered for the scheme

Once we have received your details from Scottish Government, we will contact you to arrange the necessary checks required, including those required for your home to ensure it meets tolerable standards and a Disclosure Scotland check prior to an individual or family coming to live with you.

Funding

An optional Thank You payment is available to all sponsors who are actively hosting Ukrainian guests.  The payment is either £350 or £500 depending on how long a guest has been in the UK.  As there is no pro-rata payment the first and last months' stays must be for 14 days or more to be eligible.  Thank You payments are calculated monthly in arrears and generated on the first working day of each month, taking approximately 4 working days to reach bank accounts.

Ongoing Support

As a host you will have access to our Ukrainian Support Team and, once your guest arrives, you will have a dedicated officer from the team who will support you throughout your time as a host.  Your dedicated officer can be contacted during office hours by phone, by email, or you can come along to one of our drop-ins and speak to the team in person.  If your hosting arrangement is going well and you haven't required support from the team, your dedicated officer will check-in around every 3 months to make sure everything is going okay.

Providing other help

If you're not able to provide a home, but would like to help the people of Ukraine in other ways, you can find out more on the Humanitarian Support page on the Ready Scotland website: https://ready.scot/humanitarian
