Maximising the use of our assets

Working with services and communities to make best use of our local assets.

Transforming our Estate

This involves the transformation of the Council estate to meet the needs of our future workforce and communities for a thriving South Ayrshire.  This is a strategic and long-term programme of work with a phased approach that will commence with the development of a vision for the future estate including community and commercial buildings and assets.

Implementation of the Future Operating Model

The Council's Future Operating Model (FOM) offers a new, modern way of working that also leads to a reduction in the amount of buildings the Council occupies and reduces our carbon footprint.

Street Cleaning Operating Model

A more effective and efficient model for street cleaning is required to provide additional flexibility and support.  Options for a new model will be explored which reduces costs, better manage vehicles that are in need of repair or service and has a positive impact on how we keep our streets clean.

Our New Way of Working

One outcome from the Council's new way of working is significantly reduced office space as many staff are home based or are working in an agile way.  Opportunities have therefore emerged to consider potential savings in office costs.

Corporate Booking System

This project will consider options and systems which support .our new way of working and provide management information to support efficient use of the Council's estate.

South Ayrshire Council Wedding Venues

This project will explore commercial opportunities aimed at generating additional revenue by promoting greater use of SAC buildings as wedding venues.  The project will aim to develop a model for delivering events across the estate.
