Diamond Wedding celebrations for Ian and Joan

Ian and Joan Christison recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

The couple are originally from South Shields and met at the Westoe Rugby Club where Ian played rugby and cricket. They married at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in South Shields.

Ian worked as a secondary school teacher and Joan as a primary school teacher while living in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. 21 years ago, the pair took early retirement and moved to Ayr to live near their daughter.

Ian and Joan have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Mary Kilpatrick, Depute Provost for South Ayrshire, congratulated the couple and presented them with a bouquet of flowers.
