Five apprentices from South Ayrshire Council's Property Maintenance team made it all the way to the finals of the APSE Apprentice of the Year Awards!

Apprentices Jordan Brown, Adam Mitchell, Gregor Meikle, Steven Nicol and Ewan McDicken were all nominated by their supervisors for their willingness to learn, hard work and dedication.

APSE is a not-for-profit organisation working with over 250 local authorities throughout the UK. Their Apprentice of the Year awards recognise the achievements of Scotland's apprentices and their aptitude and commitment to learning a range of skills in the housing and building sector.

Councillor Martin Kilbride, Buildings, Housing and Environment Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "To have five of our apprentices up for the Apprentice of the Year Award is a great achievement and they should all be extremely proud.

"By offering apprenticeships we continue to give young people the opportunity to learn practical skills, while undertaking courses at college.

"I am sure all our apprentices will keep up the good work."
