Council create additional Cabinet post for 'Developing South Ayrshire'

At today's meeting of South Ayrshire Council, Councillors agreed to create an additional Portfolio Holder for Developing South Ayrshire.

The purpose of this new role is to provide strategic and political leadership to council officers as they work on a range of creative plans to help develop the local area.

This is an exciting role with oversight of future developments and special projects that will enhance South Ayrshire, adding to its appeal and encouraging more people to visit, work and live in the area.

Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Martin Dowey said: "We're working on a range of plans that will help enhance what South Ayrshire already has to offer.  The Developing South Ayrshire portfolio is key to moving these plans forward as a Council. 

"We live in a fantastic area of south-west Scotland, which we want to develop to its full potential, providing even more reason for people to come to the area."
