South Ayrshire Council is delighted to announce that there will be a free community open day in the Craigie area on Saturday 12 August.

Our Thriving Communities and Sport and Leisure teams are teaming up with the Ayr North Community Sports Hub and a variety of local sports clubs and organisations to provide the fantastic event at Craigie Way Campus, which encompasses Riverside Sports Arena, Ayr Academy, and the surrounding grounds at the River Ayr.  

Attendees can get involved in a range of exciting activities from 10:00am until 2:00pm, including football, athletics, orienteering, rugby, tennis, rowing, drama and music, and there will even be inflatables and activities on the river. 

Clubs already confirmed to attend are Ayr Seaforth Athletics; Ayr United Football Club; Ayr Rugby Club; Scottish Rowing; Active Travel Hub; Ayr Storm Basketball; Dundonald Gymnastics Club; Whitletts Victoria Football Club; Ayrshire Orienteering Club; Prestwick Tennis Club; Livewire Theatre Company. More will be announced in due course.    

Councillor Brian Connolly, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Sport and Leisure said: "Craigie Community Open day is set to be a fantastic day. It's a great opportunity for people to take part in fun activities and speak directly to the local clubs, groups and organisations in the area. There will be something for everyone, and it's completely free to attend."
