Airshow - Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies

South Ayrshire Council are delighted to welcome Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies (CWST) as a sponsor of The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight.

CWST are surface treatment specialists with 67 facilities in 17 countries. They provide a range of surface treatments to key markets, including Aerospace; Automotive; Semi-Conductor; Energy and Medical, that enable components operating in harsh environments to last longer and perform better.

The company's history dates back almost a century to 1929, when aviation pioneers, the Wright Brothers and Glen Curtiss, founded the Curtiss-Wright Corporation.

Orville and Wilbur Wright were the first people ever to fly a power-controlled machine that was heavier than air - the Wright Flyer, while Glen Curtiss designed and built the first successful pontoon aircraft in the USA.
