Meet The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund team at the new air show!

Airshow meet the RAFBF

South Ayrshire Council's air show event charity partner, The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund will be on site at the festival village during next week's much-anticipated event.

The RAF Benevolent Fund provides financial, emotional, and practical assistance to serving and retired RAF personnel and their families. This includes grants to help with financial difficulty, mental health support, Airplay youth clubs, and more.

Representatives from the charity will take up camp at their dedicated marquee within the festival village between 8 - 10 September, where they'll be on hand to explain more about the work they do and the support they can offer.

The team will also have a designated fundraising stand for those who wish to donate to the charity.

Gavin Davey, RAF Benevolent Fund Area Director Scotland said: "The opportunity for the RAF Benevolent Fund - the RAF's leading welfare charity - to be the Charity Partner for the Scottish International Ayr Show has been a great success and has enabled the Fund to reach and inform considerably more of the RAF Family in need locally, regionally and nationally.

"We look forward to meeting RAF veterans and families of all backgrounds at the Ayr Show - please pop round to the Military Village and say hello if you are attending."

South Ayrshire Council's Director of Strategic Change and Communities, Jane Bradley, said: "The RAF Benevolent Fund provide crucial support to serving and retired service personnel and their families across the UK, including right here in South Ayrshire, so it's wonderful to welcome them to the air show festival village.

"Their presence provides a fantastic opportunity for people to meet some of their team and learn more about the work they do and what support is available."

The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight will take place at Ayr shore front between Friday 8 - Sunday 10 September 2023.
