Can i help my child while waiting on a space? Yes, of course. If you attend with your child regularly this will develop confidence and the foundations to support your child's first lessons. we also have great resources available to show you how :- Water games

What age do swimming lessons start from? Our classes start from parent and babies/toddler/child from 4 months - 4 years, after this class children move onto our Learn 2 Swim programme.

What is the Learn to Swim Programme: This consists of six levels designed by our National Governing Body Scottish Swimming:-

  • Aqua Fun
  • Swim Skills 1
  • Swim Skills 2
  • Swim Skills 3
  • Swim Skills 4
  • Club Ready 

The programme provides a fun, progressive and all-inclusive pathway for children to participate in any aquatic discipline to whatever level they aspire to. It has the core philosophy of being fun, child-centred and based on establishing the core aquatic skills which are fundamental to a child learning more complex skills.

What should you expect from our swimming lesson programme? All children should be having fun! They should be involved in games-based activities to help them learn core swimming skills such as breathing, submerging and moving in the water. Swimming strokes should be introduced gradually once the child has learned basic core aquatic skills. Lessons last around thirty minutes and children should be as active as possible throughout the lesson.

What qualifications do the teachers hold? All of our Aquatics team hold a Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SCQF level 7) and are fully qualified instructors. All teaching staff must also be affiliated and licensed teachers under Scottish Swimming NGB and PVG checked, this includes regular continutal professional development training courses and mentoring throughout our facilities.
