With The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight now just days away, Saturday's festival is set to be an action-packed extravaganza.

Ayr's Low Green is the place to be on Saturday 9 September if you want to enjoy some fantastic activities, entertainment and daring flying displays!

Following Friday night's festivities, the fun begins again at 12:00noon when our Festival Village opens its doors.

Join us at our interactive creative zone, check out the classic car display and wander through the military village.

If thrills and spills are what you're after, then you may want to pay a visit to the extreme sports display, Just Dive Scuba Experience or fun fair.

Plus, make sure you drop by our STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering) marquee, The Skyway, where we'll have people on hand to help you explore the world of STEM and the possibilities it has to offer.

If you're looking to indulge in a bit of culture, visit Tragic O'Hara's art display, or our free cinema which will show classic aviation films.

Mouth-watering refreshments await too at the many food and drink stalls throughout the village.

If all the excitement becomes too much, make your way to the Healing Centre for some r and r before the aerial displays begin.

All to the tune of some great live music, courtesy of Drums n' Roses and the wandering pipe band.

Now to the flying displays.  These will get underway from 1:15pm, right through until 6:00pm.  With displays running consecutively during this period, here's just a taste of what you can expect to see as you fix your eyes to the skies.

First up is Gravity Industries, with their second impressive jet suit display of the festival, swiftly followed by Team Raven and The Gazelle Squadron flypast.

Around 2.30pm the RAF Chinook will report for duty, followed by the Bronco Demo Team.

The much-anticipated Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will zoom in at 3:00pm.

Further into the afternoon, you can look forward to the fabulous Airbourne Pyrotechnics who will be back, following their show-stopping Friday evening display, this time swapping their lights for smoke.  You can see them just after 3:45pm.

The Starlings will take flight just before 4:30pm, with their dynamic, two aircraft aerobatic display.

Later, the RAF Black Jack Typhoon will make its second appearance of the festival around 5:15pm.

Star attraction, The Red Arrows will complete Saturday's display leaving everyone on a high and wanting more.

Join us to see all of these perfectly choreographed, breath-taking displays, plus even more surprises in between!

South Ayrshire Council's Director of Strategic Change and Communities, Jane Bradley, said: "We want everyone to have the best time at the air show, so come along to our Festival Village from 12:00noon on Saturday 9 September to soak up the atmosphere before the flying displays begin at 1.15pm.  We've got an amazing aerial display programme with some truly impressive, iconic aircraft to wow the crowds.  We're all set for a weekend of back-to-back entertainment!"
