Introduction to Diving

Citadel Leisure Centre - Flexi Pool

Our Introduction to Diving classes are for young people who have no experience, or limited experience with diving from the boards. The aim of this class is to develop basic skills, shapes and understanding of how to dive. This class consists of a 45-minute poolside session only.

Essential Entry Criteria:

Children in Primary 1 and above
Able to swim 15 metres un-aided
Comfortable in deep water and tread water for 30s.
Able to jump and submerge in water without goggles.

A swimming test will be carried out prior to the lesson start time, please ensure your child can meet the above criteria before booking this class. We will not allow any child to participate if they cannot achieve the set criteria.

Diving Development - Citadel Leisure Centre - Flexi Pool

This class is for young people who have attended our Introduction to Diving classes in the past, or who already attend Learn2Dive sessions.

Our Diving Development class consists of a 45-minute dryland session where you will take part in training which will improve your shapes, conditioning and strength which will have a large impact on your poolside work. After the dryland session there will be a 15-minute break for the young people to get changed and onto poolside for their 45-minute poolside session. The total running time of this class is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
