Additional Early Years Centre Closures - Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 September 2023

As you may be aware, as a result of national industrial action, all South Ayrshire Council operated primary and secondary schools, along with Invergarven and Southcraig schools, will be closed to pupils on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 September 2023.

We have recently received information that new members of the GMB union intend to participate in the scheduled industrial action in Wallacetown, Cherry Tree and Space Place Early Years Centres.

This means that Wallacetown, Cherry Tree and Space Place Early Years Centres (EYCs) will close in line with all other schools and EYCs in South Ayrshire on the above dates.

We understand the impact this late notice will have on parents/carer's childcare arrangements. Unfortunately, this change in the availability of staff on the days of industrial action is out-with our control.

All schools and EYCs will re-open on Friday 29 September 2023.
