Provost and Depute Provost celebrate 25 years of VASA

South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell recently held a civic reception to celebrate 25 years of Voluntary Action South Ayrshire (VASA). Representatives from the organisation were invited along to County Buildings in Ayr.

Provost Campbell and Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick congratulated VASA for their outstanding contribution to the local community. VASA provide a range of services including organising events and a telephone befriending service to help tackle social isolation. One of these events is their annual Christmas gathering, where older people can meet for a meal and exchange gifts. 2023 will mark the 22^nd annual Christmas gathering.

VASA also provided services to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering prescriptions and shopping. They continue to help  those in need.
