South Ayrshire Council are pleased to confirm that Councillors have approved a proposal to expand the number of early years spaces in Troon.

At Council on Thursday 12 October, following a public consultation, the decision was made to relocate Troon Early Years Centre to Troon Library, with the library relocating to the ground floor in Troon Municipal building.

The provision will increase the amount of spaces, including for 2-year-olds, and will offer more flexible choices of attendance patterns and times for parents.

Councillor Stephen Ferry, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Education said: "Making sure our children and young people get the best possible start in life is one of our main priorities, so I'm delighted that the proposal to move Troon Early Years Centre was approved.

This highlights our commitment to providing a nurturing environment where little minds can flourish. We believe that change brings new opportunities, and the feedback received in the public consultation will be taken on board to inform the plans for the facility."

Councillor Alec Clark, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Culture, Tourism and Rural Affairs said: "This is not only a fantastic move for Troon Early Years Centre, but a great opportunity for investment in Troon Library that will represent a new story of growth in the community.

"I know that their love of books will continue to thrive with this move."
