Council staff choose new employee charity partner

NEWS UPDATED

South Ayrshire Council staff have chosen Night Before Christmas Campaign (NB4CC) as their new Employee Charity Partner.

Council staff vote each year to decide which local charity they would like to support. This time, Night Before Christmas Campaign was our employees' top pick after receiving the highest number of votes.

Reliant on countless generous donations, the team's charitable purpose is the prevention or relief of poverty, centred around a core principle that no one should go without at Christmas.  Since 2015, Night Before Christmas Campaign have delivered an ever-increasing number of Red Bags Full of Joy and over time their reach has extended outside of Ayrshire, with efforts including the collection of backpacks for Glasgow's homeless population.  In addition, the charity operates from Ayr's Baby To Teen store in Arthur Street and provides new school uniforms to families experiencing financial hardship in South Ayrshire, via the South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank.

The partnership will run for the next 12 months.

South Ayrshire Council's Chief Executive, Mike Newall said: "Each day, our colleagues embody the ethos of making a difference in the lives of our citizens.  Choosing this charity as our partner resonates with our shared values of compassion and service.  Together we stand united in our efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most."

Night Before Christmas Campaign founder, Jodie McFarlane said: "We are over the moon to be chosen as South Ayrshire Council's Employee Charity Partner and we thank everyone who voted for us. Our ethos is that we want everyone to feel the magic of Christmas and we believe that if we all work together, we can make a difference."
