Hourstons and Arran Mall Redevelopment

This consultation is taking place to share the initial masterplan for the proposed mixed-use development at Arran Mall and the old Hourstons building, Alloway Street, Ayr.

Design development is ongoing for a mixed use 'care village' development, consisting of: demolition works; existing building alterations, new-build elements, car parking, servicing and access arrangements; hard and soft landscaping, public realm; and other associated works and infrastructure.

This is ahead of a Planning in Principle application, to provide an indicative overall framework masterplan for a phased delivery of individual component parts.

Further public consultation, including an in-person event, will take place as the proposals move through the design and planning stages. Further details will be posted here and on South Ayrshire Council social media outlets.
