New South Ayrshire Youth Council launched

We're launching the first ever South Ayrshire Youth Council.

An election took place on 20 June 2024, allowing young people to get involved in the democratic process. 53 candidates stood in the election, with 2558 young people turning out to vote, including pupils from South Ayrshire secondary schools, Additional Support Needs schools, virtual schools, and school leavers.

The new Youth Councillors will take up their posts at the beginning of the school term in August.
