SOLD OUT - Airshow STEM Week - Free STEM family drop-in sessions at Prestwick Airport

Airshow STEM airport event

As the 2024 International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight fast approaches we're getting ready to kick things off with STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)!

Around 800 S2 pupils from South Ayrshire schools are being given the chance to take part in a week-long programme of activities at Prestwick Airport focussing on STEM between Monday 2 and Friday 5 September.

On top of this, we're also offering families the opportunity to come along to one of our free STEM drop-in sessions on Wednesday 4 September. Here they will be able to experience what the school pupils enjoyed during the week.

These sessions will feature many aerospace companies, delivering a range of activities. They include an aerospace quiz to find out how much you know about the aerospace industry and where you may be amazed by some of the answers!

There will be drone and flight simulator challenges, aircraft hydraulic and wiring challenges, along with other engineering and code challenges. You will also be able to experience some of the amazing technology in virtual reality and meet with aerospace company experts themselves to find out what they do and what job opportunities are possible at Prestwick and beyond.

Two sessions will run in the airport's Aviator Suite.  The first from 6pm - 7pm and the second from 7pm - 8pm.

Thanks to the generosity of Prestwick Airport, parking for these sessions will also be free.  All you need to do is bring your parking ticket into the event and staff will authorise it.

Places on the sessions are limited so book now at https://buff.ly/4dGPA1W
