Provost and Depute celebrate Stage 2 Completion of Alloway Railway Tunnel Project

South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell and Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick attended a ceremony to mark the completion of Stage 2 of the Alloway Railway Tunnel (ART) Mural Project led by renowned muralist Chris Rutterford.

Community engagement is at the centre of the ART Mural Project, with further plans in place to involve local schools and community groups at workshops at the Cutty Sark Centre from 17-29 September. Drop in workshop sessions are also open for members of the public of all ages and abilities to get involved. A series of short heritage films have also been created that can be accessed via QR codes on the mural, enabling visitors to interact digitally and get more information about Ayrshire's vibrant history.
