Belleisle Golf Course 'Masterplan' - Public Engagement Sessions

Belleisle Golf Course 400 x 400

South Ayrshire Council is excited to be working with the talented team at Pangaea Golf Architecture, in association with Paul Lawrie, to improve the playing experience at Belleisle and Darley Golf Courses.

Following detailed site analysis over the summer months, a 'masterplan' of initial design concepts for Belleisle will be available for the public and members of local clubs to view at a range of public engagement sessions in October.

The designs will be available to view anytime at Belleisle Park Clubhouse from Monday 7 October until Thursday 31 October, and drop-in sessions will be available on the dates and times below:

  • Tuesday 15 October - 12pm until 3pm (with Golf South Ayrshire staff)
  • Tuesday 22 October - 10am until 3pm (with a representative from Pangaea Architecture)
  • Tuesday 29 October - 12pm until 3pm (with Golf South Ayrshire staff)

Belleisle Golf Course was opened in 1927 and was designed by one of the world's most influential architects, James Braid. The new design concepts aim to retain and enhance many of the risk and reward features once envisioned by James Braid, while also placing sustainability and the future in their approach.

Councillor Brian Connolly, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Sport and Leisure said: "This is a great step forward for Belleisle Golf Course. Renovating the course is essential to retain the reputation of the facility for decades to come, and our thoughts must turn to developing the next generation of golfer who will enjoy this fantastic golf course.

"We know it's important to local players to retain the features brought in by James Braid, and Pangaea are making sure these are incorporated in the new design concepts. We really value our players feedback, so I'd encourage everyone to come along to see the design concepts in October."
