South Ayrshire's favourite summer festival is set to return to the Low Green later this year with a fresh new look, following approval at today's Special Council (Thursday 6 February).
'Summer fAYRe with Armed Forces and Pipes in the Park' will be held from 11.45am until 4pm on Saturday 21 June, and will host an afternoon full of exciting and engaging activities and attractions.
Children, young people and families can look forward to watching exhilarating competitions from pipe bands and highland dancers; a dance arena hosting fabulous performances from local dance schools; a wide range of market and charity stalls; military attractions; fairground rides and even a children's fun dog show.
This fantastic event, which has been running for over 30 years, is an opportunity to support our Armed Forces as well as service families, veterans, and cadets.
More activities and entertainment will be confirmed soon.
Councillor Alec Clark, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs said: "Our fantastic summer festival has been a firm family favourite for years, and this year we're set to make it even better than before.
"By confirming the date so early this year, it means that residents and visitors can plan their day well in advance and make the most of what South Ayrshire has to offer. The festival grows year on year and is a prime example of the kind of event South Ayrshire is becoming renowned for."
