South Ayrshire Council is delighted to confirm that its staff have chosen The Ayrshire Hospice as our new Employee Charity Partner for 2025.
Each year, Council staff vote to decide which local charity they would like to support. This time, The Ayrshire Hospice was our employees' top pick after receiving the highest number of votes.
The Ayrshire Hospice provides exceptional palliative and end-of-life care to people aged 16 and over with life-shortening and limiting illnesses across Ayrshire and Arran. The organisation's holistic approach to care involves the whole family, and aspires to have patients lead their care and making their own choices.
The Hospice offers a variety of services designed to support patients and their loved ones at all stages of their illness. This includes symptom management with medical, pharmacy and nursing support; emotional and spiritual care; pre and post bereavement services; complementary therapies; a range of therapeutic activities; and end of life care. Care is delivered in hospitals, care homes, individual's homes, and staff can care for people in their In-Patient Unit and Living Well Hubs across the community - wherever it's needed most.
The partnership will run until 31 December 2025.
South Ayrshire Council's Chief Executive, Mike Newall said: "I'm delighted to welcome The Ayrshire Hospice as our new Employee Charity Partner for 2025.
"Our employee charity partnerships help make a real difference to the many people who rely on the services delivered by charitable organisations. The Ayrshire Hospice provides invaluable support to individuals and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives, and we are proud to help raise awareness and funds to support their crucial work in our community."

Every donation and act of support will make a meaningful difference to our patients and their families, ensuring they receive the care, comfort, and dignity they deserve. We are incredibly grateful and look forward to working together to make a lasting impact in our community."
