Information about Garden Waste Permit Auto-Renewals

South Ayrshire Council is reminding residents that Garden Waste Permits for brown bin collections will auto-renew this year, for those who previously purchased their permit online.

The garden waste collection service costs £50 per bin annually, and plays an important role in helping residents maintain their gardens while also supporting the Council's efforts to deliver essential services in a challenging financial climate.

Residents who used the Council's online portal to purchase their permit last year will have their permit automatically renewed around 14 days before it expires. This includes an automatic payment of the £50 fee using the same debit or credit card from the previous transaction. The auto-renewal will continue each year for as long as the card remains valid.

Residents who did not use the online portal to purchase their permit last year will need to renew manually. The easiest way to do this by visiting www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/garden-waste or by calling 01292 559342. Manual renewals can be made up to 28 days before the expiry of the current permit.

Those who wish to cancel their auto-renewal can do so by logging into the Council's Garden Waste Portal, selecting "My Subscriptions," and choosing "Cancel Auto-Renewal." Please note that if you cancel auto-renewal, you'll need to manually renew your permit each year to continue using the service.

New permit stickers will be issued by post once payment has been confirmed.
