Councillors vote on key Cabinet roles

At today's Special Council meeting (Friday 23 May 2025), Councillors agreed the following changes to the Cabinet's Portfolio Holders:

• Councillor Chris Cullen replaces Councillor Bob Pollock as Portfolio Holder for Economic Development;
• Councillor Mark Dixon replaces Councillor Brian Connolly as Portfolio Holder for Sport and Leisure; and
• Councillor Brian Connolly, Leader of South Ayrshire Council, becomes the Corporate and Strategic Portfolio Holder.

Council also agreed further consequential changes to representation on Outside Bodies, Working Groups and COSLA as outlined in the report which can be viewed here.
