2025 airshow parking and important information for drivers available now!

Airshow Parking 2025

A range of parking options are now available to book for this September's International Airshow - Festival of Flight on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 September.

You can save time and money by booking one of our early bird parking options in advance!

If you're travelling by car to the airshow, you'll be able to park at the following locations:

·         Ayr Racecourse - park and ride or park and walk.  Shuttle buses will be provided, but people who prefer to walk can do so.  Early bird cost:  Friday 5th - £10 / Saturday 6th - £15.

·         Rozelle Estate (open on Saturday 6th only) - park and ride or walk.  Shuttle buses will be provided, but people who prefer to walk can do so (please note it's just over one mile to walk from Rozelle Estate to the festival site).  Early bird cost: Saturday 6th - £15.

·         Seafield - park and walk.  This is the closest carpark to the festival.  Early bird cost:  Friday 5th - £15 / Saturday 6th - £20.

·         Blackburn Drive (Blue badge holders only on a first come, first served basis).   Friday 5th and Saturday 6th - free.

Blue badge holders will be able to park for free at Blackburn Drive car park and make their way to the Low Green from there.  You don't need to pre-book these spaces, but they are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.  You can find information about accessibility at the airshow at destinationsouthayrshire.co.uk/ayrshow/ayr-show-accessibility-information.

Car parks open at 3.45pm on Friday 5 September and 10.15am on Saturday 6 September.

The shuttle bus drop off point for our park and ride options will be Ayr Esplanade - right in the heart of the action!   The shuttle service, which will be provided by Stagecoach, will operate every 3 - 4 minutes at the following times:

·         Friday 5 September - 3.45pm - 10.00pm

·         Saturday 6 September - 10.15am - 8.00pm

Over the last two years the festival has brought in huge crowds, so it's advisable to book your parking in advance (excluding Blackburn Drive).

Our airshow car parks will once again be managed by Tracsis Events.  The team specialise in live events, operating nationally at many of the UK's most high-profile events including Glastonbury and Silverstone Racing. Each car park will have free toilets and lighting towers to make it easier to get back to your vehicle when the event is over.

You can book your early bird airshow parking now at https://customer-parking-services.tracsis.com/?access_token=ayrshow

Early bird bookings close at 12:00 midnight on Thursday 4 September (for parking on Friday 5 September) and 12:00 midnight on Friday 5 September (for parking on Saturday 6 September).

So, you must book by 12:00 midnight the day before you want to park to secure your space at the early bird prices.

There may be some parking spaces available on the day, however we can't guarantee this. Any available spaces will incur a surcharge of an additional £8 on top of the early bird booking price. The total same-day parking fee will be payable online, so please also book this before you head to the airshow to help avoid delays when you arrive.

Carpark entry will be streamlined with ANPR cameras (automatic number plate recognition).  When you pre-book your parking, you'll be asked to provide the registration plate number of the vehicle you intend to bring on the day.  This means your number plate will be automatically checked when you arrive at the carpark to grant you access.

To make sure you can make your way home as soon as possible after the festival, exit plans will be in place for all car parks.  However, please remember, as with all events of this scale, you should expect some delays, so it's best to factor this into your journey times to and from the festival.

To ensure the road network remains safe and emergency vehicle access is maintained at all times, a number of temporary road closures and restrictions will be in place ahead of, during and in the period immediately after the festival.  Permanent restricted areas will be marked with double yellow lines and signage.  Temporary restricted areas, covered by the Temporary Traffic Road Order (TTRO), will be marked with cones and signage.

Any vehicles parked in restricted areas may be towed, and the owner will be required to pay a £200 fine to retrieve it.

Residential areas that are covered by the TTRO will once again be closed to the public who are visiting for the festival.  Check points will be in place to make sure that residents can gain access to their homes.  We will write to residents affected by the TTRO to provide further information about what to expect.

Information about parking and traffic restrictions on the weekend of the airshow is available at destinationsouthayrshire.co.uk/ayrshow/parking-faqs

Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Brian Connolly, said: "This is the Council's third airshow, and we know from previous years that the event draws in huge numbers.  So, we're advising everyone who intends to drive to the festival, to plan their journey ahead.  To make your trip as smooth as possible, booking your parking in advance is highly recommended.  We've got some great options available again this year, with regular Stagecoach shuttle buses running from our park and ride carparks on both days.   It's quick and easy to book online and it will save you time on the day, so you can head straight to the shorefront and enjoy the big event!"

Depute Leader of South Ayrshire Council and Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, Councillor Alec Clark said: "I'm pleased we're teaming up with Tracsis again this year to ensure our airshow carparking runs efficiently and smoothly.  I'd encourage all drivers to be aware of both the permanent and temporary restricted areas over the festival weekend and adhere to the measures in place to avoid penalty fines or vehicles being towed.   Other measures will be in place to make sure resident parking and emergency vehicle access is maintained throughout the event.  Ultimately, we want everyone to have a fantastic experience at the airshow, and you can help by planning your journey and parking ahead."
