Gaelic Language Plan Consultation
Consultation closed 12th September 2025
We are pleased to share the draft Gaelic Language Plan 2025-2030 and invite employees and residents of South Ayrshire to take part in our consultation by completing the following survey. Developed in line with the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005, the plan outlines South Ayrshire Council's commitment to promoting and supporting the Gaelic language. In the spirit of the Act — which seeks to secure Gaelic's status as an official language of Scotland, commanding equal respect to English — we want to hear your views. We're keen to understand your knowledge and experience of Gaelic, as well as your feedback on the contents of the draft plan. Your input will help shape how we support Gaelic in South Ayrshire over the next five years.
