South Ayrshire Council Secures Funding from UK Government's Pride in Place Programme

South Ayrshire Council has been awarded £20 million from the UK Government's Pride in Place (PiP) programme.
The funding is part of a national initiative which will provide long-term investment to disadvantaged neighbourhoods across Scotland. It aims to build pride in local areas by enhancing community spaces, public realms and high streets, while attracting private investment and improving health, well-being, and economic opportunities.
South Ayrshire will receive £20 million over a 10-year period to support community-led regeneration in one of its five towns. A Town Board will be established before the end of the year to direct investment and ensure effective and transparent delivery of projects under the programme.
Councillor Brian Connolly, Leader of South Ayrshire Council and Policy Lead for Economy and Strategy said: "I am thrilled that South Ayrshire has been selected to benefit from this funding. The £20 million opens up a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of one of our towns, build stronger communities and make sure South Ayrshire is a place people are proud to call home."
