Community Asset Transfer

Information on Community Asset Transfer.

The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 introduces a right for community groups (known as community transfer bodies in the Act) to make requests to all local authorities for any land or buildings they feel they could make better use of, this is called community asset transfer (CAT).

South Ayrshire Council is committed to supporting our communities by working in partnership to make the most of our local economy and help to create strong, successful, sustainable and effective communities through the Community Asset Transfer (CAT) process approved by the Leadership Panel on 27th November 2018.
