Year upon year, The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight draws huge crowds to Ayr, so booking your parking ahead is advised (excluding Blackburn Drive).

Why not take advantage of early bird prices? Early bird tickets will be available until 12:00 midnight on Friday 28 August 2026. After this, standard pricing will apply until 12:00 midnight the day before you want to park. If booking on the day, additional same-day parking charges will apply on top of standard pricing.*

There may be some parking spaces available on the day, however we cannot guarantee this. Parking can still be booked online on the day. If you plan to pay on the day, booking online is still recommended to avoid any delays when you arrive at our car parks.

When you pre-book your parking, you will be asked to provide the registration plate number of the vehicle you intend to bring on the day. This will allow ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) cameras to automatically check your vehicle when you arrive and grant access, allowing for a more streamlined experience.

Car parks will open at 3.45pm on Friday 4 September and 10.15am on Saturday 5 September.

The shuttle bus drop off point for our park and ride options will be Ayr Esplanade - the ideal location to visit our fantastic festival village and get a prime view of the action! The shuttle service, provided by Stagecoach, will operate every 5-10 minutes at the following times:

·       Friday 4 September - 3.45pm - 10.00pm

·       Saturday 5 September - 10.15am - 8.00pm

While we work hard to ensure the smooth running of our parking and traffic management systems, as with all events of this scale some delays should be expected. Please factor this into your journey times to and from the festival so you don't miss out on any of the action!

To ensure the safety of our road network and to maintain access for emergency vehicles at all times, a number of temporary road closures and restrictions will be in place ahead of, during, and in the period immediately following this event.

Further detailed information on these temporary measures will be publicised on our channels in the lead up to the event, and will be available here - destinationsouthayrshire.co.uk/ayrshow/parking-faqs

Permanent restricted areas will be marked with double yellow lines and signage.  Temporary restricted areas, covered by the Temporary Traffic Road Order (TTRO), will be marked with cones and signage. Any vehicles parked in restricted areas may be towed, and the owner will be required to pay a £200 fine to retrieve it.

Residential areas that are covered by the TTRO will be closed to the public who are visiting for the festival.  Check points will be in place to make sure that residents can gain access to their homes.  We will write to residents affected by the TTRO to provide further information about what to expect. Information for residents is available here - Ayr Show Residents' Information - South Ayrshire Council

Councillor Brian Connolly, Leader of South Ayrshire Council, said: "With three airshows under our belt, we know that this event draws huge crowds to Ayr. We recommend planning your journey ahead and, if you're driving, booking a parking space. With shuttle buses running from our car parks to the site, we'll take you straight to the centre of the action to enjoy the big event."

Councillor Alec Clark, South Ayrshire Council's Depute Leader and Policy Lead for Commercial/Operational Services, said: "We're pleased to be joining up with Tracsis and Stagecoach again to ensure our car parks run efficiently and smoothly."

Councillor Clark, whose portfolio includes cultural services and tourism continued, "We recommend booking in advance to secure a space - especially while our early bird offer is running. You'll save time and money so you can focus on enjoying the show!"

Councillor Chris Cullen, South Ayrshire Council's Policy Lead for Leisure and Community Services, said: "If you're travelling to the airshow by car - make sure you plan your journey in advance to get the most out of the weekend. I'd encourage all drivers to be aware of both the permanent and temporary restricted areas over the festival weekend and adhere to the measures in place to avoid penalty fines or vehicles being towed."

*PLEASE NOTE - Early bird pricing includes an £8 discount applied to all bookings placed before 12:00 midnight on Friday 28 August, after which time standard pricing applies. For bookings made on the day, an additional surcharge of £7 will apply on top of standard pricing.
