The Multiply Programme
Within the Thriving Communities Community Learning and Development Adult Learning Team there are four members of staff that support the Multiply Programme across South Ayrshire Council's three localities (Troon and Prestwick; North and South Carrick; and Ayr).
Multiply is a UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) funded programme that supports adults with basic numeracy skills up to level 5. This support can be in a variety of ways. It may take the more traditional 'maths class' approach where individuals can gain SQA Core Skills Qualifications, or it can be through a softer approach where numeracy is embedded in the learning where learners may not be aware they are using numeracy skills, for example, cooking or board games.
Multiply are also keen to support parents with their child(ren)s schooling or with other aspects of parenting. For example, Multiply are working in partnership with Scott Morrow to deliver sessions to parents that provides support with maths relevant to their child's age and stage.
