The South Ayrshire Charitable Trust has funding available to help tackle poverty and assist those in need. The funds are split geographically:

  • Applicants in Ayr can apply for up to £1000

Please note:

The maximum amounts will be reviewed annually by the trustees who oversee the fund.

Who can apply for funding?

Funding is available to groups, organisations and individuals provided they can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the trustees that the funding will be used to help those in need living in South Ayrshire.

Possible activities the trust may support could include but are not limited to:

  • Providing grants to local clubs or organisations which support the poor, the disadvantaged, the disabled, the elderly or the sick: and
  • Providing grants to purchase items for projects that will benefit local residents and patients of hospitals and care homes

How do I apply?

There is a group application form and an individual application form for each geographical area. Applicants will be required to show that the funding will be used for the benefit of the residents of the specific geographical area.

The South Ayrshire Charitable Trust is made up of sixteen former trusts which operated throughout South Ayrshire, some of these funds were set up decades ago. The council has brought all of these trusts together into one. The original16 trusts had specific rules on where the funding could be spent and these rules still apply.
